10 tips and tricks for your Wedding Planning
- Start as early as you can
It’s a very common tip about wedding planning, but it is probably the most important one – even if you’ve heard it a million times before.
Starting early will help you with your average timeline. And also understand how much time you need to make all those important decisions with patience and not become overwhelmed with all that pressure.
- Estimate your guests
It may be obvious, but planning a wedding with 20 guests is way easier than planning a wedding for 500 people.
Once you decide your wedding size, it gets less complicated to decide the date, location and venue of your big day.
But keep in mind that about 10 to 20 percent of the people you invite won’t attend. It obviously depends on the location and date, but out-of-towners or people with a vacation planned usually won’t go.
- Be aware of your money when planning your wedding
The wedding can be a high cost investment, so prepare yourself. It is one of the benefits of starting your planning earlier. You can save as much money as you can, to make your dream come true on the budget.
So, the most important tip: have a budget. This will help and guide you through the choices you’ll have to face during your wedding planning. There are a lot of options that have to be included in the budget, such as:
- Location and/or accommodation;
- Venue;
- Foods and drinks;
- Music;
- Photography;
- Bride and groom’s vestment;
- Flowers and decorations;
- Wedding ring.
Of course there are a lot of other things that might get into that list, but those are the most important ones you have to prioritize.
So always have a budget that covers all of those – and a little more, to be prepared for any problem that may occur during your planning.
- Define all the must-haves as a couple – a very important wedding planning tip
It’s very important to get on the same page as your partner with all your must-haves. Know every important thing both of you have to have on this important day.
And that is what you’ll focus on getting right before all other concerns during your wedding planning.
But also delete some of the things at the bottom of your list – because if they’re at the bottom, they aren’t that important to you.
- Choose your venue and location very carefully
Choosing a venue is a very important step (and tip!) in your wedding planning because it is dependent on the location and date.
If you’re planning your wedding on the beach in the winter, it is not a very good idea. Rain, wind, bugs and mosquitos, such as the venue itself may be a very hard combination to put together.
Or a closed and not very ventilated place in the summer will also not be a good idea. That’s why you have to put a lot of thought into those choices.
To help you with that choice, we will present you some questions you’ll have to ask yourself:
- Will your wedding be large or small?
- Will it be local or in another destination?
- What’s the budget for the venue?
- Do you want an all-inclusive venue or you’ll choose all the arrangements yourself?
- Don’t forget your wedding dress!
It’s also a thing that the sooner you start looking for it, the better! You don’t have to choose right away, but know what you want and start looking for ideas in styles and tissues.
Also, if you’re going to get a dress designed only for you, rent or buy one already made: all of those 3 options are different and take different timelines to get it all done and prepared for the big day.
- Don’t be afraid to ask
If you have any kind of doubts, don’t be afraid to ask – to your wedding planner service, to the vendors, photographer or anyone whose services are linked to your wedding.
And if you want to explore some different options, they’re the experts. And whatever is that you feel like you should ask or have a conversation with them, do it to see if what you want is possible.
