The summer is coming and there are a lot of people who choose to have their wedding at this time of the year, because of the sun, wind, bright flowers and even greener grass, or the late and beautiful sunset.
But there are a few things that you’ll have to think about and plan when you decide to have a Summer Wedding, and some of them you won’t know unless you have a wedding planner with you in your journey.
To help you with your plannings, we separated 5 do’s and don’ts of Summer Wedding Planning, so your dream day comes true with no big troubles.
Hope we can help you plan your day with a little more ease.
Do’s and Don’ts at Summer Wedding Plannings
Be aware of the heat
Even if that’s one of the reasons why you’re doing your summer wedding, you have to think about your guests, no matter how much you love the sun.
It’s a good thing to have some places to relieve and escape the heat. Have places with shade and, even if it’s an outdoor wedding, try to place some air-conditioning.
Along with that, place some ice buckets or baskets filled with cold and refreshing water for them to drink during the ceremony and also on the dance floor when all the dancing begins.
Never forget the “save-the-date” of Summer Wedding Plannings
As you already know, summer is also known as vacation time, especially for families with school-age kids. So, for your own planning, the save-the-dates helps you guarantee that all the people you love will be on your most special day.
It’s best to send the “save the date” six to eight months before your wedding day, so everyone can plan accordly, including yourself.
Choose lighter fare
The heat will interfere in every single choice you have on wedding planning. So, keep it in mind: heavy food and heat don’t go along well.
Choose the seasonal menu, with light and fresh food, a lot of fruits and frozen drinks are the best options.
Never start your summer wedding at midday
Since that’s the perfect sunset time, and midday is when the sun is the strongest and warmest on the day, you can never start your wedding at that time. No one will be in a very festive mood.
Don’t waste a beautiful summer sunset. Schedule the dinner for that time and plan the rest of the event around that time. Shoot for a late afternoon or even an early evening.
Choose your attire (and the wedding dress code!) wisely
You have to be comfortable, not sweating and sticking. So make sure you choose your dress or suit wisely for the occasion, with lighter fabric that breathes.
You can wear the full gown during the ceremony, and after change for some more comfortable and refreshing attires. And don’t forget to let your guests wear what’s best for them in summer as well.
Extra tip: Never forget the sun and bug protection!
You don’t want to get a sunburn as a wedding gift, do you? Let’s not make a new meaning for “blushing bride”! Sunscreen must be applied to any exposed skin, to prevent any type of sunburn.
You can give tiny sunscreens for your guests as well as a welcome wedding souvenir, or at least provide it in some baskets on the bathrooms along with some moisturizer to prevent the burned skins.
Another very important thing is the bug spray: keep it in the basket as well for any guest who may need it during the ceremony or the party.
Keeping it all planned out will help you enjoy your day with a lot more fun and love, and that’s what you deserve.
